January 23rd I joined the YMCA and promised myself that I would not only go at least 4 times a week, but push myself and not give up. I am happy to say that I have kept my goals. Amelia and I drop off Alex at school and then head straight to the gym.
I have been using my phone to capture my workouts so that I can track myself. Last week I lifted 10,000 lbs for the first time. Yesterday I graduated from the treadmill to the elliptical machine. Today I ran a mile in 13 mins 35 seconds.
I love that I can squat 110 lbs and press 55 lbs doing two reps of 12. I still have a long way to go, but I am excited about the progress that I am making!!
Amelia has really started enjoying her time at the gym. She likes playing with their babies and strollers. The ladies that work in the play area know her by name and she loves the social interaction. Alex has gone to the gym with us a few times too and he has even started talking about the gym. I am excited to start this interest in going to the gym and becoming a healthier Mom and example for my kids :)
