Addison's GI Follow Through

Addison's tummy has continued to give her troubles these past few weeks.  Her colonoscopy showed that she has inflammation in her stomach as well has her intestines.  Addison's doctor also saw a portion of her intestines were deformed.  She ordered a GI follow through to make sure that everything was traveling properly.
Monday morning Addison and I arrived at the hospital to have the procedure done.  Addison had to fast over twelve hours for this test and she was a champ.  Addison had to drink barium (they added chocolate) and she hates the taste and texture.  The last time she had this test we had to stick a tube down her nose to her stomach.  Lucky for all involved we didn't have to go that route this time!!
The doctor saw Addison refluxing while drinking and we will get the final write up in a few weeks.
Addison did a great job and was thrilled to be eating lunch once the test was finished :)

Mardi Gras 2012

Mardi Gras was always a fun holiday growing up.  Parades, Moon Pies and necklaces what more could a little girl ask for!!  We now celebrate with some of our favorite New Orleans/Cajun dishes.  This year we shared a muffaletta sandwich, red beans and rice, jambalaya and fun purple and gold corn chips with queso!  As for dessert...Moon Pies of course :)

Addison's American Celebration

Amelia and I were able to attend the Kindergarten presentation of Celebrating America staring our Addison!!  I was frustrated during the songs because Addison's face was hidden by the hat worn by the young girl in front of her, but the songs and her smiles made up for it.  I recorded the songs and will post them below.  Addison had practiced her songs and she along with her classmates did a wonderful job :)

Valentine's Day

Our day of love started with pink pancakes!  Each of the older kids had parties at school where they exchanged candies and Valentines.  Dinner was a true labor of fun/love!  The kids and I enjoyed creating chocolate covered strawberries and decorating our mousse cake.  We enjoyed a dinner of steak, asparagus, cooked pears and sweet potato mash.
Presents and treats were opened after dinner!  This years theme was Duke Pride.  Dadam has been dropping hints of wanting a Duke Polo to wear on his trips and to work.  I just expanded the efforts to all the A's in the family.  The kids also received movie tickets from Grandma and Grandpa as well as Burger King gift cards from Nanee.  (Did you know that Burger King's new fries are gluten-free?)
 Trying things on....
Decked out for school!!

Adam's Extra Curricular Activities

Last night Adam and our family attended his first Blue and Gold Banquet.  We enjoyed yummy pulled pork sandwiches with all the fixings.  Root beer floats was the perfect dessert for the evening!  When dinner concluded the awards were handed out.  Adam received his Wolf badge as well as a Gold and Silver Arrow and three yellow beads.  Way to Go Adam!!!

Saturday Adam had tryouts for Little League.  He was asked to run the bases, field the ball, and hit using a pitching machine.  Each child was given 5 pitches and not everyone hit.  I am thrilled to report that our Adam did though :)
