Kinda Awesome

After my post last week about Adam's dream of bringing the dinosaurs back to life Grandpa Lund made the suggestion of watching parts of Jurassic Park. This weekend it just happened to be on t.v. so I recorded it and we watched it with him. He loved seeing the dinosaurs and only hid his eyes a few times. His face during the hand in poop scene was priceless!! When the move was over I asked him what he thought...his exact words "Kinda Awesome!" His favorite part of the movie was when the T-Rex came and ate the Raptors at the end of the movie and in his eyes saving the day :) Yesterday after school and after having time to process the movie he was once again talking about dinosaurs and how he could bring them back, but make him like people and not want to eat them just raptors!!

Sisters!

As I was getting Amelia ready for church yesterday I put a dress on her that was way to big! We were experiencing an unusual cold and wet day here in Arizona and I wanted her to be as comfortable as possible in clothes that fit. I started to think...what do I have that she might fit into...the dress that Addison wore home from the hospital is nicely put away :) I dug it out of a box and the zip lock bag it was in for safe keeping. As I went to put it on Amelia, Addison came into the room. I asked her "Addison, is it okay for Amelia to wear your dress to church today?" I am happy to say in truly sisterly fashion she said "Yes!, Can I see a picture of me?" It wasn't until I saw the girls in this dress that I really saw how much they truly look like sisters ;) Way to be a Great Big Sister Addison!!

Say Cheese!!

Amelia has started to smile! Dad received the first official smile, but mine was worth the wait! As most of you know they aren't easy to get on film, but here are a lucky few that Dad got on his phone and with the camera held tightly in front of her (on sports mode) while she played in her bouncy chair. What a thrill to her face light up.

A Boy Can Dream Right???

Adam came home from school today and started acting out...this is a little unusual for him believe it or not. I asked him why he was writing on the table and not paper and he broke down into tears. When I finished my we don't write on the table speech I asked him to explain to me why he was so upset.
Apparently there are students on the bus and in his classroom that don't share in Adam's true love for dinosaurs. Adam truly has a passion for them and loves to not only play with his dinosaur toys, but he reads books on them and reads articles in the paper and his favorite museum is the Smithsonian's Natural History Museum. Adam has shared his dream to bring dinosaurs back to life and let them be nice. He has even gone as far as thinking that meat eaters would be harmful so he would train them not to eat meat so that they would be nice too! The kids that he was sharing his thoughts with told him it was impossible. Of course he is crushed and really, who wouldn't be!
I asked him if he believed he could bring them back to life. This was the first time his answer wasn't yes. He said "I really don't know." I asked him if he still wanted to try and he luckily said yes. As a mom are you supposed to tell him the truth of the matter or are you supposed to encourage a dream that most likely will never be? In my heart of hearts I want to do the latter, but I don't want it to come back in bite me 20 years down the road.

A SUPER Weekend!

What a weekend our family had! Saturday we did yard work, shopping, nap time & playtime (Wii). Sunday was Amelia's first day going to church. As you can see she is in her Sunday best and in one photo she is even showing off her pretty shoes. We enjoyed the Super Bowl with our friends in Gilbert. Hayden and Brynley were excited to meet and hold Amelia. The end to our Super Weekend was watching the Saints win a pretty fun Super Bowl. Let The Good Times Roll :)

When I Was A Baby!

Adam and Addison have been asking about when they were babies a lot these past few weeks. From how they ate like Amelia to dirty diapers and sleeping all the time. Adam's favorite thing to say about his sister right now is "She's Adorable"! Addison is just excited to have a sister to hold and kiss on a lot. I decided that I would show all the kids what they looked like as babies to see what they thought. What do you think???
