Ice Cream Anyone?

Our ward activity on Saturday ended with a 20 foot long ice cream sundae for the primary kids. I bought a few rain gutters and covered them in plastic wrap! I think that everyone had a "sweet" time. As you look through the pictures you might notice that Adam has so much fun that he was one of the last men standing :) They had vanilla and chocolate ice cream with chocolate sauce, caramel, nuts, cherries and whipped cream. I am sure that the parents of the primary loved me that night!!

Phoenix Science Center

Our family visited the Science Center in Phoenix on Saturday. I think that the kids enjoyed planting seeds for butterflies the most! This is a picture of Alex and Addison at a computer. Before this picture was taken Alex was sitting down facing the computer and playing with the mouse. He looked so grown-up.
As a family though I think that what made the trip a success was the Alien Ice Cream we got in the gift shop :)

Adam's First Visit To The Nurse

Today while Adam was in the lunchroom he slipped in a puddle of water. The nurse called me to let me know that he had been resting for about 15 minutes with an icepack. I spoke to Adam on the phone and he was crying. I so badly wanted to hop into the van and get him, but I told him to shake it off and head back to class. The nurse said he has a pretty good bump, but he seems to be okay. I am sure that the most upsetting thing to him is that he missed recess to lay in the nurses office with a bump on his head...

A Great 1st Day!

Adam had a great first day of school. He was so excited that he hardly touched his lunch. He took two bites of his sandwich and ate some carrots...Needless to say he came home and ate the rest of his lunch and afternoon snack!! We asked Adam if his teacher was nice and he said "yes, of course". He was excited that they were able to use a glue stick, scissors and crayons for a project. Adam loved getting to play outside on the playground and eating in the lunch room. He was excited to return to school today. Addison on the other hand had a very hard time leaving Adam this morning. She cried most of the way home. She had taken her lunch box on our walk this morning thinking she could start school too!

Kindergarten Here We Come!

What a big guy my little man is. This morning we walked up to his classroom and put his backpack on the sidewalk just like his teacher asked him to do. They line up outside the classroom until exactly 7:55 am. We were all a little sweaty, but it was worth it. Mrs. Polzin seems like a very nice lady and we are hoping with 29 students in his class that they will hire a new teacher for the school soon! I am excited to see how is first day goes. I am sure that he will do well. Stay tuned...Adam and his Dad had a great time walking to school today. I loved seeing both of them holding hands. I really liked the picture of Lil Adam walking in his dad's foot steps. What a great memory.

After we had breakfast and got everyone ready it was time to walk to school. Our whole family walked over to Adam's new "Big School". We enjoyed getting to spend that time with Adam giving him pointers. At one point he told me I only needed to take one picture.

Little Adam woke up at 5:30 this morning to start his school year off. He has been counting down the days for a week now. We woke up this morning and had pancakes with bacon.

Adam's Desk

Adam met his teacher tonight and is very excited to start school tomorrow. He has two friends from preschool in his class. I packed his lunch tonight and am ready to start our early morning! I can't believe that he is already going to school. Seems like just yesterday I was bringing him home from the hospital. He is ready though :) My very big Lil Adam is growing up!

Adam's Basket has crayons, scissors, pencil, a glue stick and name tag for the playground!

Addison's First Day of PreSchool

My little girl is growing up! Addison started preschool today. She was so excited that she woke me up at 5:30 am. She set her clothes out last night and put her backpack on the front door before she went to sleep. This morning as we were getting ready she kept reminding her big brother that it was her turn not his!!
When I was dropping Addison off at school she was a little nervous. I showed her where to hang her backpack and we signed up for snack. That seemed to break the ice a little. There were two little girls sitting at the table playing and I told Addison to join in the fun. I slipped out the door and hoped for the best. When I picked up Addison she was wearing her backpack and a smile. Her teacher said she did a great job. Addison spent a lot of time painting her very own canteen.
