Adam and Addison have been riding their scooters around the neighborhood as of late, enjoying the weather and freedom! Friday night around 6 Addison came home (not even crying) and announced that her had hurt. Dadam took a look and had her move her wrist and fingers around. The weekend passed and Addison attended school on Monday. She woke on Tuesday morning complaining that her wrist still hurt. I called and cancelled her bus and after dropping Alex off at preschool, she Amelia and I headed to Urgent Care. Addison received X-rays on her wrist and sure enough she fractured her wrist. Her fracture is called a buckle fracture. The Urgent Care set Addison's arm in a splint and she was off to school!
We made an appointment with an orthopedic doctor on Thursday. Addison was given a cast (she picked pink). Addison was excited to go to school on Friday and have her friends sign her cast. Today (Sunday) I think she is over the excitement :) Addison is complaining about the cast making her itch! This will most likely be a long 4 weeks!!!
Running around with Addison all morning took a lot out of me, but I was excited about the evening Adam won through Intel! Dadam entered a contest to attend a photography class being taught by the Suns head photographer. Dadam sent me the e-mail to explain that he won, as I read it I noticed that he also won tickets to a game.... Not just any game though, the Suns vs the Spurs.
Dadam enjoyed his class and learned a lot! I enjoyed watching the players warm-up as well as watch Dadam put his recently learned knowledge to use.
We had a fun night at the game! The best part...the Spurs won :)
We started our day of green with a fun and colorful breakfast! I have been enjoying a new website called Pinterest. Lots of people pin items that they have created or made for their families. I got the rainbow pancakes idea from that sight. My Mom and I created the pot of gold at the end of the rainbows though. We used hash-browns and scrambled eggs! I served the kids Naked Green Machine to drink with their breakfasts just to complete the effect!! Such a fun way to get our day started!
Grandpa called us earlier in the week and told us that Burger King was going to be serving green ketchup. We were very excited to learn that the fries were going to be free too! Burger King now has gluten-free fries which is a big plus for us :)

The Ashton family invited us over for a traditional St. Patrick's Day dinner! We enjoyed corn beef and cabbage, soda bread, potatoes and carrots and yummy green bread, broccoli and lime sherbert with 7/Up as our drinks! Addison and Adam ate everything on their plates just to let ya know how YUMMY everything tasted :)
Our family was asked to bring dessert and once again I had fun using Pinterest to find yummy treats. I made a grasshopper pie, green caramel corn, a rainbow fruit salad and chocolate mint pretzels! I am happy to say that the fruit salad was the first thing finished!
I wish that I would have taken a few pictures of the kids playing. The kids are growing up so fast and it is fun to watch them play with other kids. The girls got together and put on a show for us outside on the trampoline. The boys had fun tossing around the football with Dadam. Amelia had such a great time playing with Mia that she cried for her on our way home. Our little ones aren't so little anymore and I find myself trying to savor each moment they share with us!
Monday we started Spring Break with a movie! Adam, Addison & Alex made it through the whole thing, but Amelia and I spent most of the time in the lobby. Ms. Lacey as able to come and work with Alex. He did pretty well during the movie, he only needed help a few times! The kids loved the movie and are excited to see it again :)
Tuesday we played hard at Makutu's Island. The kids enjoy playing here because it is like a huge play land on steroids! After playing for about an hour and a half a treasure hunt for 4 keys began. All of the kids in the play land were searching for these 4 keys. When they were all found the keys were placed into the chest to see which key worked. When the chest as opened 4 suckers (big) were handed out to the finders of the keys. Addison and Alex both started to cry. Addison had looked for the keys and didn't find one and Alex was sad that he didn't get any of the treasure inside the chest.
Needless to say that ended our day at Makutu's Island :) We hurried off of get the kids drinks and Nanee saved the day by getting all of the kids a treat!
Our Wednesdays are still full of therapies and doctors appointments, but that didn't stop us from having some fun first! We took the kids bowling and I think it was a first for Alex and Amelia. Amelia as okay with sending the ball down the lane during the second turns of her siblings! Alex loved getting to try out bowling, but became board quickly. Dadam took him aside and explained that he was shooting a canon ball at the ships (pins) and suddenly the game became very interesting and fun for Alex! Adam bowled the highest score on one game and Addison perfected her grip on the ball as well as her step and release!
Once again....Mom beat Dadam!!!
Spring Training is in full swing here in Phoenix! We thought that a game would be a great way to spend an afternoon during Spring Break. The Arizona Diamondbacks were playing the Cubs at the Cubs practice field on Thursday so that was the perfect game for us. Dadam has been a Cubs fan since he was a boy. A few years ago he went to a game and enjoyed a Chicago Dog for the first time. He always liked the Cubs, but now he had a reason to attend the games!! Our kids like the Diamondbacks and have seen them play a few games during the regular season. This as their first Spring Training game though. We sat in the outfield in the grass and sun! The kids ran around and enjoyed playing with the other little kids in the outfield! Dadam walked Adam closer to home plate so that he could see how the batters stand and swing the bat.
This was a fun thing to do, we all decided that attending a game earlier in the Spring Training season would be better though. We were hot!! I guess we are spoiled with our air conditioned stadium :)
Friday we visited the Zoo along with the rest of Arizona! The zoo as very busy, when we were leaving the line was truly over the bridge and down the hill. Crazy!!! Our little ones enjoyed getting to play on the splash pad and in the tree house. Nanee was also leaving after the Zoo so besides the kids normal kettle corn they also got to enjoy some cotton candy while checking out the animals :)
Above you can see the Gilbert Temple. We drove by to let Nanee see the progress that has been made thus far. Our stake young women are participating in an 18 mile hike to the Temple this month. Our kids have enjoyed getting to watch the Temple being built. As we drove by it on Saturday Alex said, "That's where you going Mom & Dad!" The open house will be such a fun experience for our family, I can't wait!!
We had a very busy and fun filled week! Mom is very ready to get back to reality though :) After this week I am getting a little nervous about keeping the kids busy for the whole summer!!

Dadam was very sad to learn that he would be missing the Festival of Colors in New Delhi next month. He contacted the a friend at Intel in the India Association and asked if there was anything happening in the valley to celebrate. Adam was invited to participate and we got to tag along for the fun!
We had a wonderful time dancing and wishing everyone a Happy Holi. As you can see we got a little into the experience :) We were prepared for the colors, but the water fight after the colors was a surprise for us! Luckily we had spoken to Dadam's classmate in Dubai,Varun and he told us to bring a change of clothes and towels.
Lunch was so yummy, but by the time we were finished eating was were beat! We headed home tossed out clothes in the trash/soaking in Oxy Clean and showered/scrubbed ourselves!! What a wonderful tradition to start with our family :)
Fishing in the city! We took the kids to the Bass Pro Shop so that they could go fishing :) Adam caught a fish, but if you look at his face he is scared to death of the fish!
Amelia and I enjoyed her first fishing experience. She got to use the Mickey Mouse fishing pole and it even lite up. We used corn as bait and the fish were very smart. Amelia got board and the fish enjoyed a lot of corn without the hooks!
Alex wasn't interested in the slowness of the fishing experience. He wanted to test out every boat, 4 wheeler and tent available in the store :) He did however enjoy seeing the fish in the tanks and watching the fish being fed!
Addison LOVED getting to fish! She was first in line and very proud of her fish that she caught. She would have kept on fishing if their wouldn't have been a long line of other children waiting to fish :)
All in all I would say that the kids had a great time at the Bass Pro Shop. Guns, Boats and Fish Oh My!!
Alex enjoyed his first Field Day today! We were able to watch him tug-a-war, relay, parachute, and bad mitten! Alex got tired, but he pushed on and enjoyed his day. He is pictured with Ms. Sally's class (he gets to join them for large activities like this and the library).
Adam is an old pro when it comes to field day! He had a lot of fun participating in the activities. His team won Tug-a-War every time :)
Addison the Athlete!! Addison had a great time at her first field day. She cheered her friends on and loved participating in the games and relays :)
Amelia was the best cheer leader! She had a fun time watching her brothers and sister participate. Besides a potty training accident her morning was fabulous :)
Adam and his classmates performed a wonderful show tonight. Today during school Addison and Alex were able to enjoy the show and I was lucky enough to see it tonight. The group was made up of 4 classes. There were two group songs and then each class performed their own musical version of a folk tail from around the world. Adam played the bells and took part in the acting portion his classrooms skit. He was the Uncle Mouse!!
Teacher by trade, Mother by choice! Being a Mom is nothing that I expected and everything I expected and more. I have four wonderful children and they are each special in their own ways. My job each day is to love them care for their needs and make sure that no one takes advantage or gives them the shaft. The industry calls me an advocate, but Mom works just fine for me :)
